Penny Arcade Expo – I miss you already

Last year around this time I felt the need to go on Vacation.  I had no idea where to go but I just knew that going back home to NY was low on my list.  Seemingly out of nowhere the idea of going to 2008′s Penny Arcade Expo popped into my head.

I had always heard coverage of the event being nothing but positive and the thought of being right there in the thick of it sounded absolutely amazing.  So late August of 2008 I packed my bags and joined the 58,000 other gamers in Seattle for the 3 day expo.  I roamed through the convention hall looking to meet industry people and talk to fellow gamers and I succeeded in doing so with absolute ease.  Everywhere I looked were dozens of people from all walks of life coming together to enjoy their favorite past time and experience some upcoming games and technology and I was loving every minute of it.

By Sunday I had vowed to go to 2009′s PAX and any subsequent one if I could help it but unfortunately due to a scheduling snafu I’m forced to sit this year’s out.  It was a huge bummer but I figured I would spread a little love for the event here.  Yes the cosplay can be scary at times but what’s the use of hanging out with a few dozen thousand of your closest friends if you’re not having fun doing it?
