What is Dizzy Geek?

n.  A person who has many interests and things they are good at, but can  not choose just one. Often computer related.  Synonym. Jack-of-all-trades, Crazy Dork.

Now that you have a definition, hopefully we can better explain what a Dizzy Geek is. Or better yet tell you why we choose the web address DizzyGeek.com.  It all started when one of Jen’s teammates started talking about blogging again.  She got upset at herself because once upon a time she said she was going to start blogging again.  And after about 6 months, no blog.  She discovered part of the reason why was she didn’t know what to write about. So first she had to decide what that was.

What to Write About?

Facebook IM helped solve that. Late one night or in the middle of one afternoon she was chatting with a teammate through Facebook’s IM service. They were talking about how her teammate figured out what to write about and how perfect it was for her.  For the record, if you like, love or are just plain curious about anything Disney make sure to check out InsideMouse.com. Well the teammate started to ask Jen about the things she liked.  What she was interested in and it occured to Jen – pretty much a bunch of geeky stuff.  “My goodness,” Jen thought, “I could write about that stuff easy.”  Problem solved.

Finding the Geek

If you have ever named anything before, you will probably agree with me that it is one of the most difficult things to do with a product, website, heck even a person.  It’s pretty much stuck like that.  Sure you can rebrand it, but its hard to do. So after sitting down with a domain search website she plugged in the word ‘geek’. When asked for opinions on different domain names the responses were, “Sounds like another word for your mom’s basement,” and “Do you fix computers?” This was the only domain that didn’t receive smart assed responses.
